THE STORY OF OPA’S SOAP & Candles

After 35 years in law enforcement, “Opa” (German for Grandpa) retired and started a new hobby…soap making!  Our grandchildren called it “Opa’s soap”, thus the name.  We have been making safe and sustainable handcrafted soap since 2015.  In the beginning our soaps were for ourselves, sharing them with family, and then gifting them to friends and neighbors.  After much encouragement, we now offer it to others.  It has been a passion, a pleasure, a learning experience and a lot of trial and error, but we have perfected our process and are so happy to now offer our products to everyone.

In 2020, we ventured into the world of candles.  “Oma” has always loved and used candles, so it seemed fitting that we include them to our production and added “& Candles” to our name   It was important to us that we use 100% NON-paraffin waxes and NON-toxic ingredients.  Just like our soaps, we began using them ourselves and gifting them, and now we offer them to you.
